2021 SPRING SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
Five $5,000 Scholarships

ABOUT THE AWARD
​WACA's scholarship program was created to give back to the wall and ceiling community by supporting the future workforce of the construction industry. We hold the scholarship program twice a year, in the spring and fall. Scholarships are provided for college tuition assistance to undergraduate students pursuing a degree in construction management, construction engineering, or architecture. Scholarship recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee composed of board directors & contractor members. The recipients' selected have demonstrated academic achievement, a personal mission, financial need, and commitment to education. Recipients will receive accolades by being featured in WACA's The Quarterly Magazine, website, marketing, eNews, and social media campaigns.

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY
  1. Enrolled as a full-time student​
  2. California resident attending a California accredited 4 years public or private university
  3. Junior or senior level in process of earning degree
  4. Enrolled in a Construction Management, Construction Engineering or Architecture degree program
  5. Demonstrate financial need
  6. Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0

REQUIREMENTS
  1. Applicant must complete the online application form (below) by April 15, 2021
  2. ​Personal essay no more than 200 words
Note: IF SELECTED for the scholarship, official proof of transcripts will be requested to be declared a scholarship winner. A current, complete transcript of grades showing the last two academic school grades, including student name, school name, grades, credit for courses taken, and major. Students only need to submit official transcripts if the association contacts them to offer the scholarship award.

I affirm that I plan to pursue a career / degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or Architecture degree program. I give permission to officials of my institution to release transcripts of my academic record and other information requested for consideration for the WACA Scholarship. I understand that this application will be available only to qualified people who need to see it during their duties. I affirm that all the materials included in this application is my own work or evidence of my own work and grades as officially confirmed by the university. I affirm the information contained herein is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge and belief.

Submit
*Note: If you are selected as a recipient scholarship winner, we will request official transcripts to qualify your scholarship. 
AWARDS PROCESS
  1. Applicants will receive an email acknowledgment of their submitted scholarship application
  2. Applications will be reviewed, evaluated and selected by WACA’s Scholarship Committee. The Committee will consider all aspects of applicant’s information: construction related field of study, grades, extracurricular activities, employment experience, financial need information and essay questions
  3. Selected applicants may be asked to participate in a phone interview with a representative of the WACA Scholarship Committee
  4. Applicants will be notified of scholarship status after the Scholarship Committee selects the winners
  5. Scholarship check will be mailed directly to the award recipient’s school to be applied towards tuition
