WACA Scholarship Program: Building the Future of Our Industry

At WACA, we take great pride in our scholarship program, which was created to give back to the wall and ceiling community by investing in the next generation of construction professionals. Established in 2017, this program reflects our commitment to shaping the future workforce of the construction industry.

We are proud to offer scholarships annually—to undergraduate students pursuing degrees in construction management, construction engineering, or architecture. These scholarships provide vital tuition assistance to students who show exceptional promise and dedication to their studies. To date, we’ve awarded over $300,000 in scholarships, helping students from diverse backgrounds pursue their dreams. Each recipient demonstrates not only a commitment to higher education but also a passion for contributing to the future of our field.

We believe in the power of giving back and are excited to continue supporting the bright minds who will shape the future of construction.

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

Enrolled as a full-time student
California resident attending an accredited University of California or California State University
Junior or senior level in process of earning degree
Enrolled in a Construction Management, Construction Engineering or Architecture degree program
Demonstrate financial need
Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0

REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must complete the online application form (below) by the extended deadline: April 18, 2025
Personal essay (no word limit)

Note: IF SELECTED for the scholarship, official proof of transcripts will be requested to be declared a scholarship winner. A current, complete transcript of grades showing the last two academic school grades, including student name, school name, grades, credit for courses taken, and major. Students only need to submit official transcripts if the association contacts them to offer the scholarship award.

AWARDS PROCESS

Applicants will receive an email acknowledgment of their submitted scholarship application
Applications will be reviewed, evaluated and selected by WACA’s Scholarship Committee. The Committee will consider all aspects of applicant’s information: construction related field of study, grades, extracurricular activities, employment experience, financial need information and essay questions
Selected applicants may be asked to participate in a phone interview with a representative of the WACA Scholarship Committee
Applicants will be notified of scholarship status after the Scholarship Committee selects the winners
Scholarship check will be mailed directly to the award recipient’s school to be applied towards tuition
